History - Hotel Casa 1800 Sevilla

History of the house

Hotel Casa 1800 Sevilla is a typical mansion house whose history dates back to the early 19th century, its period of greatest splendor, the era of the great romantics and legendary characters such as Don Juan Tenorio, Carmen la Cigarrera, Lord Byron, Bécquer… The latest renovation of the house, which gave it its current structure, dates from 1864, following a traditional Sevillian layout. Its solid wood studded gates allowed the entry of horse-drawn carriages, from which one could then walk into a central courtyard around which all the rooms are arranged.

Before its conversion into a hotel, this palatial house was owned by José María Piñar y Miura, who was mayor of Seville in the 1950s. His legacy and influence as an important figure in the city’s political history are reflected in the building, which was one of the last personal properties of the Piñar family.

The fact that the last owner before its transformation into a hotel was a key figure in Sevillian politics reinforces the historical and cultural significance of the property.

Located in the historic center of Seville, in a building that has witnessed centuries of change and evolution, this hotel not only offers a luxurious experience but also a deep connection to the city’s past, combining the best of tradition with modern comforts, just steps away from Seville Cathedral and La Giralda.
